One of my students from 15 years ago is now a preschool teacher right at the primary school she attended and I teach at. There is something unique and beautiful to see our students grow into adults and come back to contribute to the community.  I had the opportunity to do a training session with the teachers at the preschool about a month ago.  The students I teach are a few years older so I was curious to see how the self- regulation, self compassion, neuroscience and mindfulness practices would affect the preschool children.

Here is the letter I recieved this morning from Bri.IMG_0807

Dear Michele

I am so inspired by all of this ! My mind is continously racing and I’m finding myself online more than usual, haha! I wanted to share this testimonial for you.

Michele Lilyanna’s workshop on creating happiness and joy in children was amazing, above and beyond inspiring. Anybody who works with children or has their own will benefit greatly and will have a completely new way of interacting with the children.

With the methods that she taught us, we were able to create a safe enough space to allow 20 preschool-aged children to sit with their eyes closed in silence for a minute..maybe a little more. Anyone who works with children knows that this COULD be a challenge…..you could hear a pin drop.

We are so grateful that she took the time to remind us of the importance of mindfulness in children. Now we are able to create a calm and peaceful environment for all of our children.

This letter inspires me to continue sharing with all age groups.  Can you imagine the world we might live in if children are taught mindfulness, self-regulation, compassion, neuroscience and awareness when they are in preschool?  I am deeply inspired by the preschool teachers who contribute daily to the children’s wellbeing.
