Michele Lilyanna

Michele loves life and all of its complexities. She is a zealous creator of living lessons for children, parents and teachers, translating leading edge research and practices in neuroscience and compassionate communication.  It is her intention to teach children these practices so that can become more resilient, self-regulating, self aware and joyful. Her own personal growth has led to travel all over the world and to practices that led her deep inside herself. It is through these practices that much of her teaching stems.

She has taught in the public education system for the past 25 years although all of her principals have described her as “out of the box” and out of the building with her students! Her university training focused on special education, psychology, kinesiology and art. She has taught kindergarten to grade 12, with a focus on elementary school, having job shared with over 30 other educators. For the past 10 years, her focus has been social and emotional learning.

She has studied with Robert Gonzales, past President of CNVC (Center for Non Violent Communication), current Director of Living Compassion, for the past 8 years with over 1800 hours of intensive training. She has led and designed Compassionate Communication workshops, Art from the Heart workshops for adults and children, and run self-esteem training workshops for girls.

She has been the Social Justice co-chair for her School District for the past three years. She believes in self-empowered life-long learning.

When Michele is not teaching, you will find her awakening joy and hardwiring happiness, with her family, cooking, connecting with nature and friends, practicing qigong, walking, reading, creating curriculum, creating art, learning the ukulele and most of all relaxing in a sunbeam with her puppy, Teddy Bear.

Aside from teaching, Michele is collaborating with James Baraz, ( Awakening Joy),  Dr. Rick Hanson PhD, (Hardwiring Happiness) and Robert Gonzales, PhD, (Compassionate Communication) to create lesson for children.
